Until Dawn - Horizon

Until Dawn
by YngwieViking at 01 August 2013, 12:04 PM

Very similar in sound and style to KILLSWITCH ENGAGE or ALL THAT REMAINS and the whole bit, those guys from Alberta, Canada are promising indeed, the abilities to inject some infectious melodies into their Metalcore with much success is obvious and thrilling, each track reveal a little jewel hook and as always some great Headbanging riffage and furious breakdowns… They managed to share in alternating between clean / grunt vocals smartly with a different pattern of reciprocation… This modern melodic Metal mixed with a classic flavor of the 90s was obvious in their first eponymous realization that was published in early 2011.

Since then, thanks to their hard work and their unwavering determination, the group has managed to surpass themselves today to offer "Horizon": A disc that allows them to access the upper stage in the Metalcore kingdom. Not really original but damn well crafted, the production is strong enough to compete with my Favorites bands of this overcrowded genre as AVENGED SEVENFOLD or DEMON HUNTER…Only low point is the shortness of some tracks and a little redundancy in the Harsh vocal section but I think as ESCAPE THE FATE or BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE had already demonstrate, it’s something to work on and, they have enough potential to fix those hassles easily.

I think the best is yet to come …Stay hungry!
