UNTITLED WITH DRUMS is a 5-Piece Noise Rock band from Clermont-Ferrand, France. This is actually their first full-length release and there were formed back in 2014. They do have one of the most unique band names out there and I am truly perplexed by the name to be perfectly honest.

They offer a lot to the listener and no song is exactly the same. ‘’Amazed’’ really sounds like a stripped down version of Grunge Rock, something along the lines like a slower NIRVANA. I did however feel they sounded a bit like mid 2000’s PORCUPINE TREE, a little bit more straightforward but it does channel that type of energy.

‘’Silver’’ is very spacey, a slower song but extremely profound and heavy. It reminded me of bands like MOGWAI, GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR amongst others. It’s a rather nice combination of loose and layered structures mixed in with emphasis on the whole ambiance. The songs are unique and brings the listener to expand their artistic boundaries. It gives a lot to think about. You have so much depth and to you kinda lose yourself in the music. Even though it might be quite loud at times, you surrender to the music.

This album takes us somewhere deeper, somewhere more emotional, yet still keeps you grounded. You have a lot of long stretches of instrumental music and it’s layer after layer of countless emotions rolled into one. You really see that they are dedicated to their craft and wanted to make the best album they possibly could. It might be slower and more abstract than a lot of bands out there in the genre but even though they slowed it down, they truly connect with the listener.

Each song stands on its own without being too lengthy. You have so many bands in the genre making extremely long albums that feel a bit drawn out or watered down in a sense. This album’s emphasis is the atmosphere and deep emotion that can be rather expansive. They break away from the roots of the genre incorporate so many elements to create an impressive masterpiece without a shadow of a doubt.
