Various Artists - 4 Those About To Rock (CD)

This Various Artists album definetely reminded me of a great AC/DC record when I listended to it the first time.
The caracter of those four bands (THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, THE WHOCARES and V8WANKERS) fit perfectly together and make come to your mind again what the real meaning of good old Rock'n'Roll was.
The first three songs from the swedish band THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT with their straight Rock'n'Roll style reminds me a bit of the pretty famous (also Swedish) band THE HELLACOPTERS or Denmark's D.A.D.. But in THE CHUCK NORRIS EXPERIMENT's case it sounds somehow disimpassioned. So not really the way Rok'n'Roll should sound like.

The next band, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN, is a more punk Rock band from New Jersey. Their three songs indicate a high influence of the MISFITS and those guys are defnetely able to play and put passion into their music. The only bad point about ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN is that they seem to be rather faceless. They are good but nothing special.

THE WHOCARES from Belgium are contiune the tracklist of this CD with some heavier stuff that sounds like the RAMONES. Their third song, Talk 'n' Tease really feels like Rock'n'Roll! Though the other two songs of this band are not really worth to be mentioned, this one really kicks ass! I'd call THE WHOCARES my favourite band on this CD!
The fourth and last band, V8WANKERS from Germany, seem to be very deeply influenced by MOTORHEAD. But here's also the big defect that two of the three songs sound disimpassioned and rather faceless. Only their last song, I Love Her Back, has a great own sound.

All things considered the CD is a mixture of some bands that made it from a cellar to a studio. They're all able to play but CDs like this have been done in better ways before. Maybe all those bands are a little too much influenced by their heroes and tried to copy them. They should try to make something on their own and come back by then.
