Venefixion – Armorican Deathrites

Armorican Deathrites

When it comes to Black Metal, there is always one present danger, sounding like every other band in the genre. Now, to the everyday run of the Black Metal miscreant, so what, it’s Black Metal man! But, even us Black Zealots after a while need little more to our music. Unfortunately, this is not VENEFIXION. Now, I do want to make it absolutely clear that I did not hate the music on this Mini album. As far as Black Metal goes, it will freeze your black heart over just as dandy as any other, but that’s where it ends. Every other.

As a reviewer and an avid Black Metal fan, it is hard to have say things like this, especially when you like the music. Honestly guys, I have to apologize. It’s not like the artists don’t seem talented, but they need to find their edge or niche. That one little thing that sets them apart. I see a lot of potential in this band, but as far as the album goes, I really found it repetitive, and dull. I wouldn’t turn it off if it came on, but I don’t know if I would really go out of my way to play it.

To make a recommendation, anyone who fancies your basic Black Metal, you’ll probably dig it. The music is not terrible. But if you’re looking for something fresh and different look elsewhere. “Armorican Deathrites” is a four-track mini album of raw atypical Black Metal. I’m sorry to the band, but I found this one to be nothing special. Good Black Metal, but a dime a dozen.
