Vicious Rumors - Live You To Death

Vicious Rumors
Live You To Death
by YngwieViking at 19 November 2012, 4:54 PM

If you combine the power of a freight train with the sharpness of a razor, that’s what you get at a VICIOUS RUMORS concert. VICIOUS RUMORS deliver there live show with the fire and the energy that had earned them the reputation as one of the best acts in Metal. Turn it up and get ready to ride the ball for a life changing experience. This is Metal…This is VICIOUS RUMORS. As they live you to Death. This is what is hand written inside the booklet of this live album…And you know what? That perfectly exact fucking True!

The lethal sequence of first five tracks is awesome, the sound is not polished or pro-toolized as they stop 30 Seconds to celebrate 666 years in Metal, you can try to catch your breath. But take care the wrecking ball is unremitting and the steamroller restart mercilessly for another bunch of four overwhelming songs ,taken mostly from their heydays in the late 80s / early 90’s, but what is good is that the more contemporary tracks are also pretty deadly and quite dangerous too. This is the testimony of a band that is still more than confidant and that produces plenty of unexpected resources at least for the new generation of Metalheads.

Their album “Digital Dictator” in 1988 produced by the mighty Mike Varney set the standards for the US Metal formula and that’s again the case in 2012. Ferocious guitar riffing with huge shrapnelled dual leads / screaming high pitched singing backed with gang vocals and a crushing bass / drums couple tightest as hell rarely heard in Metal recently (“Minute To Kill”), you are still not dead yet? Ok, here is the secret weapon / the final stroke: two legendary studio cover-songs as bonus tracks: “The Sign Of The Southern Cross” originally recorded by BLACK SABBATHRonnie James Dio era in 1981 in a stunning blazing headbangin’ rendition - Full mark!!! “Running Wild” is a step behind but still a good tribute to JUDAS PRIEST…I think the “Unleash In The East” version is yet unmatched.

Their music is the quintessence of the American Power Metal which draws its roots in the European old recipe…Energetic, Fierce & Proud: That’s what Metal & VICIOUS RUMORS is all about!
