Formed in Italy,
VIOLET BLEND is an alternative metal band with an outstanding female vocalist. With their heads held high, the band finished their second studio album
“Demons” which is set for release in April Fools’ Day. The album contains 13 fresh tracks for your listening pleasure. This band is another bold addition to great female fronted metal bands. In recent years there have been some amazing ones (
LUCIFER,
SAVAGE MASTER) and
VIOLET BLEND are very much worth taking the time to check out.
Opening up this album is the first single
“Rock DJ” with its insanely catchy chorus. When smoke is in the air and all seems lost, just remember that Rock N’ Roll is your greatest friend that will always help you through any troubles you are facing. Vocalist
Giada Celeste Chelli pours her soul out on this song. Clocking in at just 2 minutes and 21 seconds, the song goes by so much faster than that (considering that it is already a very short song). If you want to get a grasp of how this album feels and sounds, then this is very much the definitive track to check out.
One of the most fun tracks on the album is
“I’m Only Happy When I’m Drunk”. It’s the longest track on the album with not a single second wasted. These are one of those bands that can incorporate cheesy humor into their music and make it work. The guitars by
Daniele Cristellon are simple, yet cool. Most people think that in order to play in a band you have to be very technically skilled at your craft, but that’s not entirely true at all. This band is all about jamming out for the hell of it, and you can feel that throughout their music.
A slow ballad on this album is
“Muoio in un Bicchiere” which is sung in fluent Italian start to finish. All of the band members shine on this track. This is an excellent track to listen to while you watch the sunset. It’s smooth, passionate, and full of life. The closing track
“In Mezzo ai Folli” is also another track sung in Italian. With epic lyrics and vocals, this is a good way to end the album. You don’t see many bands making songs in different languages, and these are undoubtedly standout tracks on the album for that very reason.
VIOLET BLEND undeniably has lots of aspirations to create music the way that they want to. With this being their sophomore studio album, things look bright for their bands future. They embrace being Italian and share their strong love for Rock N’ Metal music. At times the album seems unfocused, but it definitely has some bold moments to be heard.
