Void Creation – Deadnology Award winner

Void Creation
Deadnology
by Marcos "Big Daddy" Garcia at 01 April 2015, 9:47 PM

Some albums really conquest us since the first time we hear it. In these situations, Big Daddy here usually says that “we gave a chance to ourselves” to know some very good bands in this way. And there are some risks in doing this way, for we can find a very unhappy surprise. But the result is a bit above the norm here. And besides a band is not creating something really new, it can be good. It’s a matter of personality. And the Austrian thrash/death metal quintet VOID CREATION is a very good example of what I mean. After four years since their first EP, “Mind Control”, they are back to smash some heads with their first full-length, "Deadnology”.

They mix the most aggressive parts of traditional death metal in Floridian way with some thrash metal elements coming from violent bands as SLAYER, with some more worked accords and musical arrangements. It’s harsh and aggressive, of course, but with technical refinement, so I must say that, besides this mix is somewhat eroded, these five guys breathe a violent and abrasive life into their music. Extreme grunts with some high pitch screams, excellent guitar duo (both on riffs and solos), a brutal and technical rhythmic session, so we can say that they are really very good. And I must say that their greatest feature is that their music sounds personal.

The sound quality is PK, maybe due the excellent work done in turning their music as brutal as clear, so you’ll hear the musical instruments perfectly, but be aware: their music is extreme, so, take care with your ears.

The album has 10 very good songs, all of the showing a band that has too much to offer to extreme metal scene. But songs like “1984” (a very extreme Metal heavy load with excellent duties from guitars and vocals), “(We Give You) Hell Tonight” (a very hooking song, with very good tempos and great work from bass guitar and drums), “The Plagues” and the excellent “Earthlings 2.0” (their greatest and most different song, with melodic elements in the middle of brutality, with great tempos again, clean guitars sometimes, and a perfect work as a band).

This album really will turn into an addiction to all those who hear it!
