Witch Vomit - Buried Deep In A Bottomless Grave

Witch Vomit
Buried Deep In A Bottomless Grave
by Cullen Baldridge at 03 September 2019, 3:05 PM

WITCH VOMIT come from Portland Oregon, duck country and was established in 2012, I hate giving bad reviews but man, I hope these guys didn't quit their day job guys, so, if you don't have one, get one.

"From Rotten Guts" seems that racing to the end of the song is the goal here, with no concept of instruments weaving together to form a good finished product. "Despoilment" is basically some more of the same, maybe don't quit your day job was to harsh, there's definitely some talent being shown here in this song but the finished product isn't close to what I expect in a song. "Buried Deep In A Bottomless Grave" has a cool dark intro, maybe I was wrong about the intro, it's basically an instrumental with some vocals in the last minute.

"Dead Veins" is heavy and fast, just like every song on this album, there seems to be more music all unity on this song than the others, this may be the best song on the album but that's not really saying a lot. "Dripping Tombs" is another song that sounds like they may have put more than ten minutes putting it together, by that, I mean, it's fast and heavy as with every song on this album but has some unity that the other songs are lacking.

"Squirming In Misery" is an instrumental and it's actually not that bad, it doesn't make me want to run out and purchase any of their albums, but it doesn't suck. "Fumes Of  Dying Bodies" takes me back to my original thoughts on this album, there is some unity on this song here and there but for the most part it's like let's play as heavy and as fast as we can and throw some Death Metal vocals on top of it.

Ummmm, I don't like giving bad reviews as I said, it's not the worst album I have reviewed but it's in the top three for sure. Maybe there is a fan base that can appreciate the rawness of it.
