Go For Progress
by Yiannis Dafopoulos at 08 December 2010, 12:12 PM

Formed in 2006 and debuting with the 2007 “Consciousless” album, which was released through Noisehead Records, the Austrian trio returns with its self released this time sophomore full-length effort.

With 14 songs and durations that vary from less than a minute to more than five, the Austrian Death/Grind war machine aims to attract the attention of the Metal scene and earn new fans. Let’s take a closer look at “Go For Progress”. As the band says, Grind is not a charity, but a social duty, and with this statement in my mind I press the “play” button and let my self to the hands of the band. Hmmm, “Go For Progress” doesn’t seem bad, not at all! PROSPERITY DENIED draws influences from the classic Grind sound and bands like NAPALM DEATH, BRUTAL TRUTH, TERRORIZER and DISTASTE, with this fast and aggressive riffing crushing bones throughout the whole album, there are some slightly melodic riffs that definitely add something extra though. The trio seems to have done a pretty good job with this brand new album being a pleasant companion, although I would prefer the sound to be a bit better. I guess with a sharper production, this album would sound a lot better. Anyway…

“Go For Progress” is a more than decent choice for all you Death/Grind lovers and surely a band with great potential. Check them out!
