Caligula’s Horse, a band at the forefront of Australia’s progressive rock scene, released their acclaimed new album ‘In Contact’ in 2017, and now they are pleased to announce a full European headline run for October-November.

The run will also see Caligula’s Horse make appearances at several festivals including Euroblast, ProgPower, Very Prog Festival and AMFest.

Singer Jim Grey comments: "We've wanted to put an 'Aussie Invasion' tour like this together for some time, and our first European headline tour seems like the perfect moment to do so. “a finely tuned inventive effort that bristles with crystal-sharp clarity” – Metal Hammer

“Those who may have despaired that progressive metal had succumbed to regression will find solace in this, the band’s finest album to date.” – Prog Magazine

“In Contact is a masterpiece…a work of unimaginable beauty.” – The Music

As with the band’s acclaimed album ‘Bloom’ before it, ‘In Contact’ sees vocalist Jim Grey and lead guitarist Sam Vallen collaborating closely on the music and lyrics. Vallen comments: “In our creative process every idea is scrutinized, deconstructed, and rebuilt in a way that one of us, alone, could never achieve. We’re one another’s harshest critic, but fortunately we’ve done this for long enough now that our inspiration draws us in a similar direction - we can finish each other’s musical sentences, so to speak. And we're lucky that's the case, since In Contact proved to be a much more ambitious undertaking than anything we’d conceived of in the past.”

Vocalist Jim Grey adds: "In Contact has been an enormous proposition - the stories told in this album feel deeply personal, and we've never been more excited to share a new work with the world. The sounds on this album are dark and adventurous - but without losing the bittersweet and joyful sounds we developed in writing Bloom.”

Written between late 2016 and May 2017, the album went through a rapid production/mixing/mastering process encompassing five weeks between May and June. The music felt fresh and the ideas were captured at the peak of their vitality. The music on ‘In Contact’ stretched all of the bands abilities, from the frantic speed and complexity of ‘Will’s Song (Let the Colours Run)’ to the immense scope and variety of the 16-minute album closer, ‘Graves’. This is Caligula’s Horse at their most ambitious and progressive.

The band’s last album ‘Bloom’ was released in 2015 and enjoyed much praise for its multi-faceted dynamic and masterful production. It mines influences from heavy rock to jazz and beyond, making it a uniquely enticing sonic entity, and a powerful addition to the high quality canon of progressive alternative rock. It is a unique thrill to watch a band's momentum build so steadily and confidently.

About Circles:

Melbourne alternative progressive rock/metal heavyweight Circles are set to circumnavigate and conquer the world with new label signings - Season Of Mist (France) & Wild Thing Records (Australia) - and a brand new record, their best yet in-hand, which will see its release in the latter half of this year. With guitarist Ben Rechter assuming the role of melodic vocalist and fellow band members Tetsuya Furuhashi (guitar), Andrew Patton (bass/screamed vocals), and David Hunter (drums) providing a maelstrom of musical brutality, Circles are a force to be reckoned with.

Throughout their two releases to date, 2011’s EP The Compass and 2013’s Infinitas (Basick Records), they have constantly evolved and brought new elements to heavy music and djent as a genre. Circles' previous European tours have included Euroblast Festival, as well as supporting on tours by The Dillinger Escape Plan, Monuments and After The Burial. In Australia, they’ve toured as direct support to acts such as Periphery, Fear Factory, Ne Obliviscaris, and Twelve Foot Ninja.

About I Built The Sky:

I Built The Sky is the project of Australian born instrumental guitar prodigy Rohan Stevenson, which has later established itself as a 3 piece band. Following a debut performance supporting Plini, I Built The Sky began to gain attention as a performing artist, being invited to support and tour with the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Between The Buried And Me, CHON, Caligula’s Horse, Twelve Foot Ninja, and Ne Obliviscaris. 2016 saw the release of his 2nd album 'The Sky Is Not The Limit’, with its single 'Striations' clocking over 500,000 views and 10,000 Facebook likes within the first 2 weeks.

Caligula’s Horse are:

Jim Grey – lead vocals
Sam Vallen – lead guitar
Adrian Goleby – guitar
