DESPITE THE REVERENCE: New Single “Surprise Kill Vanish.”

  Despite The Reverence has been ripping across the Canadian metal scene for over ten years and in that time has done many tours and released four albums. They are continuing to bolster this legacy with a fifth album “Stress Of Evolution” coming out this April. In anticipation, they have been releasing singles on YouTube, and in the spotlight now is the heavy “Surprise Kill Vanish”, which the band explains in detail: “This track was inspired by the black ops and the assassin’s goal to surprise, kill and then disappear. The main riff was inspired by Lamb Of God but turns into a bluesy hard rock verse riff. The chorus again builds in dynamics and the middle section of the song breaks down into a dark pulsing riff followed by a blues rock style solo mixed with some tapping. The outro of the chorus is interesting as the lyrics become a spoken story over a quieter groove version of the chorus.”

One of the band’s primary goals when writing this album was that it is very dynamic, encompassing all elements from heavy to melodic. They have achieved this with a mixture of tempos, styles, and instrumentation. They say that variety is the spice of life and these guys are effortlessly bringing everything under one roof creating unique and interesting compositions that flow together under a common concept. “Stress Of Evolution” is twelve bloodthirsty tracks that encourage headbanging and mosh pits.
