THUNDEROSA Announces 20-Year-Anniversary Concert.

Added 05 March 2017, 4:50 PM

Thunderosa, the Live Music Capital of the World's hardest working band, are celebrating 20 years of dirty, southern rock 'n' roll. The group has been on a major tour campaign with many shows slotted for March. Check the flyer to see where they take their party to next.

If Lemmy from Motörhead pricked his thumb with a cactus and then jammed with Down, it would have sounded something like Thunderosa. The band is pure hard rockin' roll with obvious nods to classic rock bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and and ZZ Top, and stoner sludge keeping pace with C.O.C. Slick guitar slides cascade into "thunderous" riffs.

Thunderosa concerts are a mix of famous covers and well-known originals. Ladies and gentlemen (for lack of a better term) boogie down to the Austin-based band's patent groove-that-makes-your-body move, all the while chugging copious amounts of booze. Thunderosa offers "quality arena rock at dive bar prices."

Although AJ Mac started the band 20 years ago in Tucson, Arizona, Thunderosa has practically become as much a heralded site in Austin, Texas as Willie Nelson Boulevard or Stevie Ray Vaughn's statue.

Check out a video  of their classic rock medley recently performed at Dirty Six's (6th Street) main biker hang-Dirty Dog Bar.
