Game Over - Burst Into The Quiet Award winner

Game Over
Burst Into The Quiet
by V. Srikar at 11 June 2014, 9:38 AM

Without getting into the genre wars, I genuinely feel that there is a distinct difference in the way new age modern Thrash bands and the old-school Thrash bands make their music. It’s clearly visible in this great Thrash attack by GAME OVER in their 2nd album ‘Burst Into The Quiet’.  If you’re into bands like BONDED BY BLOOD, DIAMOND PLATE, EGOKILL, EVIL INVADERS, GAMA BOMB, KRAPTOR, LOST SOCIETY, UNTIMELY DEMISE, CONDITION CRITICAL, then add this band into your playlist, as these Thrashers from Italy bring in their 2nd full length crushing everybody on their way!

Taking the band name from the famous NUCLEAR ASSAULT album ‘Game Over’, the music here is no frills out and out Thrash attack and is a fresh breathe of air with some great innovative riffs, Though I have heard so many new age Thrash bands, the riffs on this album sound fresh and innovative and the intentions of the musicians have clearly transpired into a quality album here, and the boys know what they are doing as they show maturity with their 2nd album. Though few repeated riffs do test the listeners patience, by and large the album here is of highest quality and all the instruments sound perfect, even the fast paced guitar solos are not overly used and don’t sound misplaced and there are a few surprises too, like the small blabbering in Italian language in the end of “Seven Doors To Hell”. The music is as catchy as fuck, that I was headbanging and air-guitaring in no time, and the songs are free flowing and don’t sound broken at any stage, though I’m unable to find any standout song here!!

While the production works just fine for the Thrash feast, the 80s-looking cover by designer Mario Lopez is a killer and deserves a special mention!! So look no further than this album if you’re in a Thrash mode and this album will surely be in my Top 10 list by the end of this year!
