Gurkkhas - Engraved In Blood, Flesh And Souls (CD)

Gurkkhas
Engraved In Blood, Flesh And Souls
by Stathis Giannakopoulos at 02 January 2001, 12:14 AM

Gurkkhas is not a new band in the death metal scene. They were founded in 1990 under the name D.A.B. and now being one of the most experienced bands of the French Death metal scene. 'Engraved In Blood, Flesh & Souls' is their third album and they also have a very good gig past. They have followed Sinergy, Crematory and Lake Of Tears on a tour in Italy. Apart from that they have played in dozens clubs in France and they've also toured in South America.

Let's go to the music part now. They are a pure death metal band with very good brutal vocals and I have to say that they are quite good musicians too. Their sound can be described as something between Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel. The production of the album is almost excellent and that adds some points in the whole album.

I am sure that if you are into death metal this album won't let you down at all. But after all I think that they can do something better than that. Ok it's very good album but something is missing… Don't ask me what…Something that it'll push them to the elite of death metal. Maybe more experience. If they keep working so good they can do something better than that.
