Raging Dead - When the Night Falls

Raging Dead
When The Night Falls
by Bruno Diniz at 14 October 2017, 11:37 PM

The RAGING DEAD Italy band created in 2014 through the concept idea and inspiration of Cloud Shade (Vocal/guitar) and Matt Void (Guitars). According to the band itself they put their genre as Italian Horror Punk Metal and really the quartet has great influences from bands like The MISFITS. The band's new and first full-lengh album features ten tracks and about forty minutes of listening.

Launched through Pavement Music with a good production and a mixing that leaves a bit to be desired in some parts mainly on back vocals that are a little lower than I would like, but nothing to compromise the work.

As a fan of horror movies and horror books the first part I analyzed of this work were the lyrics within the theme proposed by the band, and I must say I was quite satisfied. The lyrics really do entertain and immerse the listener in a dark and horrors environment. The first track already presents a good sense of what is to come along the work, "Streets of Rage" brings a very aggressive sound pulled to Punk with a good technique in lead guitar beyond the constant presence of backing vocals.

The introduction of melodic "Crimson Garden" and its more cadenced rhythm pull harder for great heavy metal with some long stretches of clean vocals that set it apart from most of the album.

"Army of the Restless" has a very dark ambience justifying the band's theme while "Stratch Me" and "Bloodlust" go straight into the soul of Punk Rock with a very traditional beat of the style.

The work of the band RAGING DEAD finally has a very strong personality, "When the Night Falls" is an album that is growing from how much the tracks are passing and becomes more pleasant after the third hearing. A great start for the band.
